What is Distribution Center (DC)?
A distribution center receives freight, sorts it against outbound orders and sends it on to stores or customers; it is built for throughput, not storage.
Example. Inbound line-haul trailers unload overnight, orders are picked against store routes, and the same freight leaves on outbound runs before the next inbound wave backs into the doors.
