What is Cold Chain?
Cold chain is the unbroken temperature-controlled custody of a load from shipper to consignee, where one excursion at any handoff can condemn the freight.
Example. A reefer is pre-cooled before loading and its temperature record is pulled at delivery; a gap in that record during a cross-dock transfer is what the consignee cites when rejecting the pallets.
