What is Proof of Delivery (POD)?
Proof of delivery is the signed, timestamped record that a consignee received a shipment and in what condition, the evidence a claim is settled against.
Example. A receiver signs for a pallet with crushed cartons, the driver photographs the damage at the dock, and the exception noted on the POD is what the claim is later argued from.
